For my latest blog post, I am honored to feature Soke Rick Greene. Rick approached me to make a custom order ring design out of his crest, and in the meantime we became friends. I asked Rick to tell me a little bit about himself.
"I started Jujutsu in 1978. I received my Black Belt/Yudansha in 1980 under Sensei Joan Gilbert, and I opened the Bushikan Dojo in 1985, where it is still open with classes on Saturdays. In 2006 I received Sokeship from Soke Clement Riedner; he was the first President of the World Soke Council and my instructor for 25 plus years. I am the founder of Midori Kazoku Bushi Ryu Jujutsu or Greene Family Warrior Style Jujutsu. I hold the rank of Menkyo Kaiden in Jujutsu and 5th Dan in Kenpo-Jutsu. I am also a retired Police Officer and my son Chris Greene is also a Police Officer."
